Christmas in the City

Hear what Christmas really means - and bring colleagues and friends

What makes Christmas so special?

Christians believe that what makes Christmas so special is the fact that God himself came into the world to make himself known to mankind. Christmas is a chance to celebrate the fact that through Jesus, we can now know God. The Bible tells us:

No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known. John 1:18 (ESV)

Since this is such amazing news, St Helen's puts on carol services and other Christmas events so that those working in the City have a chance to hear it. The variety of events means they can suit the schedules of our colleagues, families and friends. We would love you to join us!

Go here for dates of the lunchtime carol services and others in the run-up to Christmas.

If you would like your company to receive a formal invitation to attend one of the St Helen's carol services, please email Wes (

Young children

City workers' families are welcome, and a crèche is provided for babies and children so that they and City workers can clearly hear Christmas 'tidings of great joy'. If you are coming with children please contact Claire O'Donoghue so provision can be made.
