City at Prayer

Nothing of any eternal value or significance will be accomplished by us in the City without God’s sovereign power at work. Our heavenly Father loves to hear us pray and works through us when we depend on him. He desires all people to be saved and he desires that we pray!

Many pray for their workplace ministry and God’s mission to the City by praying with their families or housemates; using the City Prayer Diary available from St Helen's; in workplace prayer groups; in prayer triplets; at their local church; and centrally at St Helen’s. More on these below.

Meeting to pray

Please contact Wes (wes@christiansinthecity.com) if you would like help:

  • Finding/setting up a workplace prayer group or prayer triplet
  • Getting your local church to pray for your ministry in the City

Weekly

A number of city workers meet each week to pray for the ministry in the City and one another's workplace ministry.  Choose from either of the times below and come through the South Transept door, opposite the church reception.  Please contact Wes (wes@christiansinthecity.com) for more information.

Mon 5:45 - 6:15pm; Tues 8 - 8:30am

Monthly

Morning - Wednesdays. 7:15 – 7:45 for breakfast; 7:45 – 8:30 for prayer; 

Lunchtime - Mondays. 1:00 – 1:45. Bring your own lunch.

Both these are at St Helen's and generally take place the week of the first Monday in the month.

Annual

There is a City-wide prayer breakfast each Autumn - usually hosted by St Helen's. Click here for more details.
